Driven For Violet
Three-year-old Violet, the Foundation’s namesake, was a bright, fun-loving girl who adored Disney Movies and playing with her dolls. Shortly after her third birthday, she suddenly began mumbling and struggling with balance. On November 10, following an MRI at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, her family received devastating news: their sweet daughter had Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a brain tumor with less than a 1% survival rate and no effective treatments. The standard care for her condition hadn't changed since Neil Armstrong’s daughter's diagnosis in 1962.
Violet lost her life in February 2022, just three and a half months after her diagnosis. Her spirit and fight at such a young age inspired her family to make this fight their mission in her honor.
